At the forefront of B2B e-commerce in Switzerland

In collaboration with Arcmedia, the BRW webshop was transformed through customised B2B functionalities and the integration of various ERP systems.

Excellence in B2B e-commerce

When redesigning digital landscapes, it is important not only to create innovative solutions, but also to seamlessly connect complex systems. Arcmedia was able to master precisely this challenge for Brütsch/Rüegger Tools (BRW). In an ambitious project, BRW's web shop was not only completely relaunched, but also connected to a variety of data sources and ERP systems. This integration included product data management (PIM) and, due to our customer's international focus, various international ERP systems. A key to the success of the project was the seamless data integration, which was specially optimised for subsequent processing in BRW's own state-of-the-art logistics centre. This strategic move enabled BRW to optimise its digital operations and open a new chapter in its international market positioning.

The user experience

BRW's redesigned web shop takes the B2B user experience to a new level. Tailored to the needs of B2B buyers, the platform integrates customer-specific prices and offers in-depth customisation of the purchasing process. The functions allow flexible handling across different roles and locations, which promotes strong customer loyalty. Another centrepiece of the relaunch is the integration with e-procurement marketplaces, enabling a seamless purchasing experience. By expanding the range with products from different manufacturers, the shop also offers exceptional diversity and uniqueness in its online offering. This comprehensive and flexible offering guarantees a compelling and efficient shopping experience for all B2B customers.

The technology

Behind the successful relaunch of BRW's web shop is advanced technology that was customised using Arcmedia's specific e-commerce expertise. A central element was the use of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). This powerful system enables the efficient and flexible integration of various data sources and ERP systems. Thanks to the ESB, BRW's data can be exchanged seamlessly between the systems, which ensures high operational reliability and scalability of the web shop.

The challenge

The project faced a number of complex challenges that required both technical expertise and a deep understanding of B2B processes. One of the biggest challenges was integrating an extensive range of products from different manufacturers into the BRW webshop, where product information had to be updated accurately and in real time. In addition, the connections to various data sources and ERP systems via an enterprise service bus required significant technical skills to ensure security, stability and international compatibility.
